Experience

Olayinka Mustapha Experience
  • I have worked at Blue Carnival Hotels as an administrative assistant. There I provided clerical support with interdepartmental communication, helped in managing schedules, and maintained the digital filing system. Although I have no profession experience working with children and families but throughout my childhood and nation serving year I have encountered many personal experiences that were very troubling for me. For example, an uncle of mine struggled with drug and alcohol use. I lost my uncle to drug use when I was in 300L at the university. This was very challenging for me I felt that I could have helped them or done something differently that would have resulted in him to still being here today. Furthermore, I was a caregiver for my grandmother when she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2012 I cared for her day and night for many months until he passed in July of 2014. These two experiences allowed me to gain personal experiences with interacting with people in vulnerable situations and allowed me to learn that I have a passion for helping others and making a difference in their lives At present I am studying Social Work which I believe will give me a greater understanding of social problems, their causes, their solutions and the impacts these have while allowing me to obtain the skills to help.
